After launching late last year, the Orchard Alliance is bringing together some of the biggest names in Digital Health. Together, we are supporting healthtech innovators, from early start-ups to global companies, in developing, assuring and certifying their innovations. Acorn Compliance is delighted to partner up with ORCHA and Blüm Health to bring together AI-driven solutions that help innovators holistically. Imagine the obstacles that innovators face when trying to get compliant and sell to the NHS. Now, the Orchard Alliance is eliminating those obstacles by guiding innovators from solution development, compliance, to commercialisation.
How can the Orchard alliance support innovators?
Whether your innovation is still in development and you’re just starting to think about compliance, or are ready to sell into the NHS, the Orchard Alliance has the right support for you. Engaging Blüm Health early in product development will give your innovation the best start for success. Acorn Compliance provides the DTAC Squirrel™, an AI-powered DTAC compliance platform and coach that can do all of the heavy lifting for you. Once your innovation is compliant with regulation, ORCHA can verify this against the NHS DTAC, as well as the globally recognised assessment framework (the Global Baseline Review), and distribute the product across their libraries, formularies and compliance portals.
All of this means that innovators can have compliance weaved into the fabric of their product development lifecycle from the start. With an average timeframe of 8 weeks to DTAC compliance, innovators can gain a quicker route to market by being positioned in front of healthcare professionals and commissioners who are actively seeking products to improve patient lives and outcomes. The partnership aims to drive innovation by providing an efficient end-to-end process, from development through to deployment of digital health solutions.
Can the Orchard Alliance support other frameworks?
It doesn’t stop there. DTAC is only the start of the regulatory journey that innovators can expect from the Orchard Alliance. With ORCHA already assessing against various global frameworks, including the US focused Digital Health Assessment Framework (DHAF), and Squirrel™ improved with HIPAA compliance in March, the Orchard Alliance is ready to help innovators break into the US market.
Who is the Orchard Alliance?
The Orchard Alliance comprises three organisations working in collaboration to bring this mission to life, leveraging years of industry knowledge and expertise.
Blüm Health
The natural starting point for innovators who are pre-MVP or looking to scale their capabilities is Blüm Health, who are a leading developer of digital health technologies, having built several products with both the NHS and Industry. Blüm Health can support early stage innovators to discover, design and develop their products in a way that can integrate seamlessly with NHS ecosystems, whilst also helping drive solutions into the market
Acorn Compliance
Acorn Compliance provides the highest rated automated compliance platform, to guide innovators through their DTAC compliance journey. Key for any solutions looking to sell into the NHS, the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria is a set of standardised requirements which must be met in order for products to be adopted into the NHS ecosystem. By implementing the world’s first AI DTAC coach, Acorn Compliance can demystify and streamline the compliance process, guiding innovators with automated evidence generation, including coverage of key compliances such as Cyber Essentials and NHS Digital Security and Protection Toolkit, which are requirements for DTAC compliance.

Dedicated to driving the wider adoption of safe and effective digital health solutions, ORCHA supports health and care organisations across the UK and internationally, including in the US and Canada. Additionally, through its Health Innovation Network-branded Digital Health Compliance Portal, ORCHA facilitates distribution and market access, enabling NHS organisations to identify and adopt digital health solutions that meet essential safety standards. By partnering with organisations such as Mind UK distributors, ORCHA helps to maximise market reach, visibility, and overall impact.
