Here at Acorn Compliance, we are reflecting on two amazing days at Digital Health Rewired 2025 in Birmingham! Our fabulous team members Michael Bell, Sofie Hunt, Zoe Alexandra Oparah and Ethan Chikowore, along with our trusty Squirrel™s, were enthusiastic and ready to help innovators with all things compliance. We were delighted to be sharing a stand with our partners at Blüm Health, alongside friends from Pal and SingFit. It’s been great to catch up with friends and partners, including Digisafe and Periculo, as well as ORCHA. The three pillars of the Orchard Alliance (Acorn Compliance, Blüm, and ORCHA) actively demonstrated how we support innovators in their development, compliance and certification journeys! 

The atmosphere this year was buzzing with energy, and we were surrounded by so many exciting innovators. It was fantastic to have insightful conversations, and see the passion from start-ups to drive the development and uptake of their digital health innovations. We spent time speaking to innovators and spreading the word about the amazing compliance support we offer, whether that’s DTAC, ISO 27001, MDR, even down to Cyber Essentials and DSPT. 

The buzzword this year is definitely “AI,” with many fascinating talks and insights about how AI can transform healthcare, and the opportunities this can provide for innovators.  We attended an insightful talk - Live AI Bake Off, with Dr Keith Grimes, Dr Josh Au Yeung, Prof Natasha Phillips, and David Fearne. AI is rapidly advancing and capable of creating solutions in seconds, however it is important we don't abandon the validation of AI outputs with human expertise for safety and effective functioning.

Our work here at Acorn Compliance is living proof that AI can support innovation and improve the future of healthtech. Our Squirrel™ is the world’s first DTAC assistant, proving that AI support can streamline processes while including human expertise to provide ongoing assurance. The DTAC Squirrel™ has already helped countless innovators breeze through compliance since its launch just over a year ago - we even signed up our first Squirrel™ client at Rewired 2024!

It was great to meet many of our innovative  Squirrel™ clients in person. We’re supporting Aira Johnson with DTAC compliance for her innovation Blute. We caught up with Lyndsey Watson from Wellola, and also Michael Morgan-Curran from Asclepius Medtech, who were crowned the Pitchfest 2025 pre-revenue generating winner! 

There has also been a huge focus on cyber security, and with the upcoming changes to Cyber Essentials next month, this is a hot topic of conversation. Look out for our blog post coming soon, by our compliance analyst Ethan Chikowore on how you can prepare for the upcoming changes.
